A Research vessel is a ship equipped to go on expeditions. Two research vessels play a role in the Tomb Raider Games.
- RX Explorer - The research vessel of Mark Willard. Lara will visit the ship and steal its Inflatable Boat when coming to Antarctica.
- HMS Beagle - The ship Charles Darwin travelled on.
