Zip in TR Legend
Zip is an old friend of Lara's. He is a computer specialist and helped her getting into the Von Croy Skyscraper in New York in Tomb Raider Chronicles. He returns in Tomb Raider Legend, where he supports Lara from home, via her headset. He often gives her hints, making the game easier for the player, which was a major complaint by the more advanced gamers. He works with Alister Fletcher. In Tomb Raider Underworld he returns yet again, but here he has a hidden agenda.

He should not be confused with Bryce, who plays a similar role in the Movies.

Zip in TR5

In Tomb Raider Chronicles, Zip appears in the final three levels while Lara is infiltrating Von Croy's VCI headquarters. He provides hints and tips as to where Lara should go, he is mostly only heard via the headset Lara wears, but is seen a couple of times in the van outside the VCI building

Tomb Raider Legend

Description from the official site

Zip is the tech guy of Lara's team, responsible for providing technical and logistical support for Lara's endeavors worldwide - he's the guy in the van or the server room at Lara's Mansion, and Lara's constant remote companion via radio headset. A wisecracking guy who's part ultra-techno-geek and part street savvy. He used to be over the top, but a few years in prison toned him down a notch and increased his resentment towards all things establishment. A former computer hacker, he works with Lara for the challenge and the thrill of it. He's personally loyal to Lara, and it really is the most fun he can have without getting arrested. [1]

Zip is also a culinary enthusiast and has worked in some of the best kitchens in Eastern Europe.

Tomb Raider Underworld

Zip aiming at Lara

Zip will be returning to Tomb Raider Underworld as one of the characters. However, he will return in low profile. In the latest Underworld trailer, he is seen holding back the butler, Winston in an attempt to protect him and firing at Lara to which she exclaims "Drop it Zip, or I'll drop you!".

The reason for this attitude remains unknown, but several logical theories have surfaced in various locations on the Internet. The theory of Zip trying to stop Lara from using Thor's Hammer has been discredited[2] by a gameplay video showing Zip deliberately shooting at Lara, while telling Winston to get down, and after trying to stop Zip, he says "Get off me!" and continues to shoot at Lara. In return, she dives out of the way and pulls out her guns, aiming at Zip.
