Bosses appear throughout the Tomb Raider series. They are considered to be enemies with considerably more strengh, agility, attacks and defence than the common enemies Lara and Kurtis face throughout the games. At the end of Tomb Raiders 1-4 and 6, there was a boss at the very end of the game usually appearing on the last level. Bosses also appeared during the middle of some Tomb Raider games e.g. Sophia Leigh in Tomb Raider III.
