The Ancient Shield is a pickup in the Gameboy Color adventure Tomb Raider: Curse of the Sword. It is found within the first level The Museum. The shield is in a chamber below a trapdoor that is opened by activating a bust on the fourth map of the level.
The Ancient Shield has to be placed in the hands of a Roman statue on the previous map to open a door.
