Since Tomb Raider 3 Lara could do a low Diving Roll. (Don't confuse with Swan Dive!) While Sprinting press the Jump Button to make a Dive Roll. This move gets essential when there are timed doors through which Lara has to crawl, in this case Lara can dive into the crawlspace. (Won't be needed in the normal games but in some Custom Levels.)

Since Tomb Raider 4 you could also use the Crouch Button to make the Dive Roll. Lara would then end up crouching after the roll, making it easier to get into crawlspaces quickly. (Careful in TR3 this won't work, Lara will stop the sprint sliding to a halt.)
