The Rotating Spiked Trap appears in Tomb Raider Legend in the level Bolivia - Tiwanaku and Tomb Raider Underworld in the Jan Mayen Island level.

When Lara first encounters this trap, it seems there is nothing there other than a simple walkway, but when nearing the trap, the rock slides open up, revealing rotating spikes. Lara can first kick the rocks available there in order to see what happens.

In the Jan Mayen Island level of Underworld the rotating spikes trap is seen before hand though misleads the player into the fact that there are more sets of the spiked cylinders to avoid. The paly must swing on a horizontal pole then stand on top, from this position Lara can make it over.
