Midas is a character from ancient Greek Mythology. It is said that everything he touched turned into gold. He ruled in Pessinus, which today is located in Turkey, hence some believe that the second part of Tomb Raider actually took place in Turkey, not in Greece.
A Statue of Midas is seen in the Level Palace Midas (Tomb Raider) or Greece - Midas's Palace (Tomb Raider Anniversary).
It is only the feet seen of and a platform with the name MIDAS. On the right you see the hand of Midas. If you stand on the hand, you will turn into gold and the game is over.
