The Library of Alexandria was once the greatest repository of knowledge in the Ancient World. It was founded during the reign of Ptolemy II of Egypt at some point in the third century BCE, and was patronised by many famous ancient scholars including Plato and Demetrius of Phaleron, whose Hall Lara later enters. The famous destruction of the Library is considered to have been committed either by the Romans from 48BCE by Julius Caeser to 391CE by the Emperor Theodosius or by Muslim invaders at some point in the seventh century CE.
