Lasers have appeared in many forms in the Tomb Raider Series, but were first used in the Military parts of the Nevada sections of Tomb Raider 3, as death traps as well as an alarm trigger. Walking through one would mean death to the heroine.

In the Louvre and Von Croy's Apartment in Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness there are trip wires (lasers) which, once broken, will either cause an alarm to sound (the Louvre) or a bomb to explode (Von Croy's Apartment).
