The Ladder is a common obstacle found in most Tomb Raider games. It usually helps Lara advance in the level by making some areas accessible to climb.

In the classic games (Tomb Raider II to Tomb Raider Chronicles) ladders were mainly simple textures and there is basically no difference between ladders and Climbable Walls. To climb up a ladder from below, stand in front, press the Action Button (you may also jump up first] and hold it to grab the ladder. Then press up. To climb down a ladder, stand with your back to it, hop down, press and hold the action button to grab hold and press down.
