Kickstarter is a fund raising platform aiming at financing projects via crowd funding. Projects can be financed by any ordinary person with internet access, instead of having to rely on financing through professional investors. The idea is that even projects that are seemingly not as profitable might get funded. It also gives the project leaders more personal freedom as they are not accountable to professional investors or banks that might try to exert influence on their creativity.
Kickstarter and Tomb Raider
So far only one project related to Tomb Raider has been successfully funded via Kickstarter: The Tomb Raider Suite, created by composer Nathan McCree.
