The Impact Barrier (in detail the Shotgun Barrier or Explosives Barrier) is an obstacle found in all three of the reboot games. To tear these down Lara has to use either a Shotgun or Explosives, depending on the type.
Tomb Raider (2013)
The first time Lara encounters one of these barriers is during the level Another Fine Mess, immediately after finding the Trench Shotgun.
Rise of the Tomb Raider
There are several shootable barriers, those where you need a shotgun and those where you need explosives in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

- Echoes of the Past
- The first of these barriers, a shotgun barrier can be found as early as Echoes of the Past, unfortunately at this point of the story does not own a shotgun yet.
- There are several impact barriers within the Cold Darkness DLC.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider
- Kuwaq Yaku region
- One of the shotgun barriers can be found in the jungle area near the ruins, north of town. It guards the document Fever Dreams.
- A second shotgun barrier protects the second crypt of the region, where an unknown person is buried.
