In Underworld, Lara is able to climb up onto poles to walk across them and remove them from walls to use as weapons.

Horizontal Pole

The Horizontal Pole is an obstacle found in Tomb Raider Chronicles, Tomb Raider Legend, Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Raider Underworld. Lara can swing around such a pole and if it's long enough even move along its length. She can also jump from one pole to the next.

In Underworld, Lara is able to climb up onto poles to walk across them. Some can even be pulled from the wall to be used as weapon or inserted into another hole in the walls.
