Noh Mask

Game(s) Tomb Raider (2013)

The Female Noh Mask is one of the three Noh Masks to be found in Tomb Raider (2013). It is one of the many relics in the game.

Japanese Noh actors could tilt their heads up and down to make the rigid mask express different emotions.
In-game information[1]

A mask with a pale face with make-up.

Historical Precedent

"Noh" (or "Nogaku") is a form of classical Japanese musical drama that has been performed since the 14th century. Special noh masks (能面 "nō-men" or 面 "omote") are used and they all have names. The masks are carved from Japanese cypress and they're painted with natural pigments on a neutral base of glue and crunched seashell.[2]
