The '''Sawmill''' is one of the more prominent buildings in the [[Soviet Installation]] of [[Rise of the Tomb Raider]]. It is located almost exactly in the centre of that [[Rise of the Tomb Raider Locations|Location]]'s map.

[[Lara Croft (Reboot)|Lara]] reaches the Sawmill for the first time shortly after she met the [[Remnant General]]. He gives her a [[Rise of the Tomb Raider Missions|Mission]] called [[Communications Breakdown]] where she has to destroy [[Communication Towers]]. One of those is located at the Sawmill. There is also on [[Soviet Crests|Soviet star]] on top of the building, a [[Strongbox]] in the attic, as well as some more miscellaneous [[Pickups]].

From the Sawmill Lara has easy access to the rest of the [[Hub Level]]: To the east lies the old [[Soviet Mine]], to the north-west the [[Gulag]], and in the south there is the [[Logging Camp]] [[Base Camp]] with the hut of the Remnant General. Right next to the Sawmill there is the entrance to the [[Challenge Tombs (RotTR)|Challenge Tomb]] called [[Ancient Cistern]] which is accessible through the old well.

When Lara returns to the Soviet Installation after the game is completed she will often find scattered [[Trinity]] mercenaries lurking here and there is a pack of [[Wolves]] living in the [[Caves (RotTR)|Cave]] nearby. Also, in the beginning of the [[Downloadable Content]] [[Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch]] she find [[Nadia]] pinned down here by Trinity, hiding in one of the [[Lockers]].
