The '''Swinging Spear Trap''' is a [[Trap]] in [[Rise of the Tomb Raider]]. It consist of a spiked arm that is released from the ceiling as soon as [[Lara]] steps on the trigger, a metal plate on the floor.

Once the trap is sprung the only possible way to escape is to shoot the weak point, a wooden beam above the spikes, before Lara gets impaled.

The trigger mechanisms on the floor can be seen when [[Survival Instincts]] are activated. Lara can shoot the mechanism in order to spring the trap without being endangered. However, to clear the path she then has to shoot the weak point afterwards nonetheless.

After purchasing the [[Bright Eyes]] [[Skill]] upgrade at a [[Base Camp]] Lara can see the floor trigger without turning on Survival Instincts.
