The Desert Eagle is one of the weapons in Tomb Raider III, The Lost Artifact and Tomb Raider Chronicles.

This weapon is quite effective, similar to the Revolver, but in Tomb Raider III it tends to be even more powerful. There is also a decent amount of ammo for it, making it arguably the best weapon in the game. One to three shots will kill most enemies and it is also useful in boss battles, for example against Willard. In Tomb Raider Chronicles you can also attach the Lasersight to it to use it as a long-range weapon.

About
The Desert Eagle is a powerful gas operated pistol firing either .357, .44 or .50 AE ammunition, designed by Magnum Research of the United States and produced by IMI of Israel. Although it is not an effective combat pistol--due to its heavy weight, large size and the size of its ammunition, it is popular in action movies and video games.

It is not clear which version of the Desert Eagle is present in Tomb Raider III and Chronicles, but its appearance is closer to the Jericho 941 recoil-operated pistol, which was later sold as the "Baby" Desert Eagle. It can be chambered in .45 ACP, .40 S&W, .41 AE and 9mm Parabellum. The version in the game is one of the larger calibers, as it outperforms the 9mm HK-MP5. The Eagle combines the accuracy of the MP5 with the massive stopping power of the shotgun, and has a better rate of fire than the shotgun. Lara can only carry one, as this pistol is much heavier than her normal pistols, and she needs two hands to control it. Reloading is not done in real time, so magazine capacity is not an issue.

The Crossbow is a weapon available in The Last Revelation. The Lasersight can be attached to it and there are three different kinds of ammo available for it. Crossbow Normal Ammo, Crossbow Poison Ammo and Crossbow Explosive Ammo.

The crossbow appears in TR4 and is useful as a weapon that can be combined with the lasersight for accurately aimed shots. The only other weapon in the game that can be lasersighted is the revolver, which appears much later. There are numerous obstacles throughout the game that require Lara to aim and fire at objects (rather than enemies) but do not require the massive firepower of the revolver. It cannot be used underwater.

Normal Ammo
Useful for trick shots and not much else. Very weak. With the lasersight, the normal bolts can be used to knock the heads off of undead skeletons, who then stagger around blinded until they fall off a ledge. Against normal flesh and blood enemies, the pistols are as effective. Note that you may need to lead your target if it is moving, as these are low-velocity projectiles.

Poison Ammo
These bolts deliver some sort of poison into the bloodstream of any enemy made of living flesh. Within about a minute of exposure, the enemy will die after sustaining any amount of damage, even one pistol round. The poison itself is not fatal, although the bolts themselves otherwise do the same damage as the Normal ammo. The Poison Ammo is useful for weakening enemies you do not wish to confront immediately; if they reappear you can dispatch them instantly.

Explosive Ammo
This type is as devastating as the Grenade Gun Normal Ammo, but with greater velocity and nearly unlimited range. Lara cannot take damage from her own explosive bolts, and these like the other ammo types can be used in conjunction with any evasive action. Effective against all living and "undead" enemies (skeletons, mummies, etc.)

A Crossbow consists of a bow mounted onto a stock that shoots projectiles, often referred to as bolts. The crossbow has advantages over the traditional bow design, in that the bolt is already prepared to fire at the pull of a trigger, whereas a bowman would have to draw a string back. This saves time and energy and can also keep the arrow ready to fire as the firer changes position. The earliest evidence for crossbows dates back to 400 B.C, to the Greek gastraphetes. Crossbows and bows were both frequently used until gradually replaced by gunpowder weapons such as the flintlock. They continue to see use as target-shooting weapons and hunting weapons.

The Pistols (also Twin Pistols) are Lara's standard weapons and reliable companions in many Tomb Raider games. She carries them in all the games from Tomb Raider I to Tomb Raider V - Chronicles, with the exception of the Ireland and VCI Parts in Chronicles, the first two levels of The Last Revelation and the few occasions when they've been taken away from her. After they've been dearly missed in The Angel of Darkness, they made their return in Tomb Raider Legend and since then have always been in the games.

Lara has unlimited ammo for these and will always carry two of them. They are not very effective, but most of the mortal opponents, except the skeletons and the mummies in The Last Revelation, can be killed with them. If you run and jump around a lot and circle your opponents they will suffice most of the time, even against a bigger opponent like the demigods or the T-Rex.

Because Lara is ambidextrous, she carries a pair of pistols, one for each hand. These were designed to be used as a pair--the left pistol actually ejects spent casings on the left side. In TR1-5, they are the weakest weapon in the game, requiring 20-30 rounds to kill an unprotected human enemy. It is not revealed what the caliber and model they are, but considering the weak firepower, most likely .22 short or .25 ACP. As with most weapons in the earlier games, reloading is not done in real-time.
The Harpoon Gun (or Spear Gun) is available in Tomb Raider II, The Golden Mask, Tomb Raider III, The Lost Artifact and Tomb Raider Underworld. Is is unique as it can be used underwater and above water. Technically, it is not a harpoon gun, but a spear gun. The spear of a spear gun can be propelled through elastic power, pneumatics or an explosive charge.

It's best used only when in the water, against sharks, barracudas and divers. It's generally not that effective. If possible it's better if you climb out of the water and use the pistols. Although the Harpoon launcher can be more effective in a few circumstances. The Hydro Propeller uses the same ammo.

The "harpoons" Lara collects and fires in TR2 and 3 are more powerful than the ones shot at her by divers, but their guns can fire continuously, while Lara must reload after every four shots. The weapon is totally useless out of the water, and only marginally useful as the only underwater weapon in the games.
The Uzis (also Mini SMGs or Submachine Guns) can be found in every Tomb Raider from Tomb Raider I to Chronicles, returning in Tomb Raider Anniversary. Each shot is only slightly stronger than the Pistols, but it shoots MUCH faster. From Tomb Raider III onwards ammo tends to be rare, greatly decreasing its usefulness. In Tomb Raider I and II however it is arguably the most potent all-round weapon.

Usiz traditionally use 9x19mm ammo, same as the HK MP5, but since the ones in TR1-5 are considerably weaker than the MP5, they obviously fire some kind of sub-caliber ammo similar to that of Lara's pistols (.22 short or .25 acp). Uzi ammo is plentiful in TR1 and 2. Round for round, they inflict the same damage as the pistols, but since their rate of fire is about five times faster, they are more effective than the Magnums or Automatic Pistols. Some critics have noticed that the Uzis look more like Ingram Mac 10s, which may be a poor rendering of a sub-caliber converted version of the Micro-Uzi. In the Tomb Raider 4 weapons menu, however, the weapon pictured is clearly some kind of Micro-Uzi. Though there's only one pictured, Lara always has two. Like the pistols, Lara does not have to reload them, and when both are trained on a target, they can kill it almost as quickly as the shotgun or Desert Eagle.

In the first Tomb Raiders there was only one kind of shotgun ammo. Since The Last Revelation the Shotgun had two different kinds of ammo, normal ammo and wideshot ammo. The wideshot ammo is best used against multiple opponents or a bigger one like the Dragonheads in Rome. Lara must cycle the action after every shot, but there is no need to reload the feed tube. The weapon basically "holds" as many rounds as you can carry. The huge bore makes for an extremely wide spread (even when using "normal" ammo in TR4) so effectiveness is drastically reduced over distances beyond 15 feet, except when fighting extremely large enemies.

The shotgun in TR3 looks very much like the Frenchi SPAS-12, which is actually a semi-automatic shotgun. It still needs to be cocked in the game, though.

from the official site
For times when a few well-aimed bullets aren't sufficient, Lara appreciates the solid familiarity of a simple pump-action shotgun. It can always be counted on to fire a side spray of buckshot capable of delivering a great deal of damage at close range.

In Game
The shotgun can load 5 rounds within its chamber, with another 20 rounds as spare - a total of 25 rounds for players to carry.

One hit will kill in point blank range against most enemies in Legend. Animals, Heavy Armoured Mercenary and Support Mercenary require two shots to bring down.

Tomb Raider Anniversary
In Tomb Raider Anniversary the shotgun is similar to the Tomb Raider 1 shotgun.
The shotgun ammo is also similar to the one from the original Tomb Raider.

A Shotgun typically a short-ranged firearm that fires either a spread of small pellets (shot) or a single, large bullet (slug). The shotgun is one of the oldest firearms designs still in use and is used in a wide variety of aplications, from target shooting and hunting to military service.

The shotgun, in one form or another, has been in the Tomb Raider Series from the beginning. At close range it can kill most enemies in one or a few shots, but its power greatly decreases at range.
The Rocket Launcher is a powerful weapon first used in Tomb Raider III, and can be accessed in Tomb Raider Legend with the use of a code.

Lara first finds it in Aldwych, and must support it on her right shoulder, even whilst shooting. The ammunition is very rare and limited. The launcher fires one rocket per shot, and must be reloaded after.

Reloading is fairly quick for this type of weapon (Lara just cocks a lever on the side of the tube) and no other weapon in the game inflicts as much damage. Very accurate and usable to extreme long range, this weapon is best employed against large enemies such as the monsters in Antarctica or bosses.
The M16 is a long range assault rifle of American manufacture which is found in Tomb Raider II in the level Diving Area. It has a similar effectiveness as the Uzis but is quite useless when the opponent is close by, as Lara will need space and time to aim the weapon. It can not be fired while jumping around.

The 5.56mm rounds sprayed from the M16 are devastatingly effective, especially when compared to the grossly underpowered "paired" weapons found in earlier TR games. Like the HK MP5, the weapon can only be fired continuously when moving forward or standing still. Any acrobatics or even a simple step back will cause a delay in fire. Like the MP5, only 3-6 rounds are needed to put most human enemies out of commission.
The Revolver is a very effective weapon, first available in The Last Revelation. It returned in Tomb Raider Chronicles. It is one of the few weapons that can be combined with the Lasersight.

A Revolver is a pistol that uses a revolving chamber to hold and fire bullets, typically out of a single barrel. With each pull of the trigger, the chamber turns, readying a new bullet to be fired. Revolvers typically hold up to six rounds in their chamber, though larger caliber revolvers may hold only five, while smaller caliber revolvers may hold eight or more. The revolving chamber design is also used in other weapons as well, such as Grenade Launchers. Though designs utilizing revolving chambers in other firearms had been developed since the 16th century, the first version of the modern revolving design was developed in 1835 by Samuel Colt and would go on to see widespread service in armed forces and private hands. Although most armies have replaced their revolvers with semi-automatic pistols, revolvers are still used by professional target shooters, private citizens and police agencies around the world.

The revolver in Tomb Raider 4 and 5 is a generic big-bore revolver with nearly as much firepower and accuracy as the Desert Eagle. Since Lara does not reload in real time, the 6-shot limit is not a problem. It can be combined with the lasersight for manual aiming.
The lasersight can also be combined with the Desert Eagle in Chronicles, and the Crossbow in TLR.
The Grenade Launcher was first available in Tomb Raider 2. It was a very effective weapon, you could bring down most opponents with one shot. It was also effective against the Dragon or the Stone Warriors (in the PlayStation Version you could destroy them with it, before they came to life)

The grenade launcher is an extremely powerful weapon and is capable of killing most enemies with a single round, however this weapon varies greatly from one game to the next. In Tomb Raider II, the grenades, loaded one by one, travel up to about 25 meters and explode on impact with anything. The (apparently) drum-fed version in TR3 must still be single-loaded, and the grenades bounce around at very close range before detonating after a few seconds, or immediately upon contact with an enemy. As such, rounds can be shot into tight spaces and downhill, damaging enemies not directly in Lara's line of fire. The launcher in TR4 is similar but has three different ammo types. Normal ammo is akin to the rounds from TR3; Super ammo creates an initial explosion plus several secondary explosions and can clear a small room with a single round. Flash ammo is non-lethal and only blinds any nearby human enemies while you escape or kill them with another weapon. It will not harm friendlies.
Note that in the Playstation version of The Last Revelation, Lara's body can detonate and take damage from her own grenades, though it will be significantly less damage than any enemies that happen to be near. PC gamers do not have this problem.
In Tomb Raider 2 and 3 you only had standard grenades for the grenade launcher:

<br clear="all">

Since The Last Revelation you could choose between three types of Ammo. Although it has the same physics as the Tomb Raider 3 one it now does area damage, making it much more useful as it can kill many enemies at the same time.

Grenade launcher in Legend has a three rounds clip and fires 40mm frag grenades in rapid succession.

In Legend, the grenade launcher has fallen from being a favor weapon among fans due to the fact that there is almost no ammo available, grenade does not explode soon enough and regular frag grenade does the same job with less hassle.

In addition to the grenades inside the launcher, Lara can also carry 4 spare clips - a maximum of 15 grenade rounds for Lara to carry.

But in the hand of the mercenary, the grenade launcher is a manace to players due to the fact it can dump a large number of frag grenade at a player within a short amount of time.

This particular Grenade Launcher appears to be an RG-6 40mm Grenade Launcher of Russian manufacture.

It is not clear which version of the Eagle is present in Tomb Raider III and Chronicles, but its appearance is closer to the Jericho 941 recoil-operated pistol, later sold as the "Baby Desert Eagle", which comes in .45 ACP, .44 Magnum, .41 AE. It combines the accuracy of the HK MP5 with the massive stopping power of the shotgun, and has a good rate of fire too. Lara can only carry one, as this pistol is much heavier than her normal pistols, and she needs two hands to control it. Reloading is not done in real time, so magazine capacity is not an issue.
The Automatic Pistols have the same accuracy, rate of fire, and do twice as much damage as Lara's own pistols, and closely resemble the Intratec Tec-22, chambered in .22LR (notice that the magazines go in front of the grips).

The left-hand pistol actually ejects spent casings on the left side. In TR1-5, they are the weakest weapon in the game, requiring 20-30 rounds to kill an unprotected human enemy. It is not revealed what the make and model they are, but they are chambered in a weak, small caliber (probably .22 short or .25ACP) and Larsen refers to them as "pea shooters" in TR5. As with most weapons in the earlier games, reloading is not performed in real-time.
Lara's signature companions. Ever reliable, ever lethal. Just like Lara. The twin pistols are counterbalanced to reduce recoil, and include custom capacity magazines.
In Game
The pistol has a total clip size of 30 rounds, which is upgradable to 40 rounds. Lara can also carry infinite amount of ammo for the weapons. Their range, clip size and damage is upgradable by collecting both bronze and silver secrets. As opposed to older games, the pistol must reload due to the magazine system in Legend. Weak and short-ranged, it is devastating in close range combat due the the fact that Lara can combine her moves with her pistol to achieve maximum efficiency.

The HK Gun is a weapon that Lara uses in Tomb Raider V starting with the VCI levels.

The "HK Gun" is the MP5 from Tomb Raider 3 (HK stands for Heckler & Koch, the manufacturers of the MP5 series submachine guns. It is smaller than the M16 gun and comes equipped with laser sight. It has 3 modes of operation: sniper, burst and rapid. In sniper mode, only one shot is fired when the trigger is pulled. Burst mode shoots 5 rounds and rapid mode fires continuous shots.

In Chronicles, the weapon has an optical sight and can be aimed manually by the player. Enemies do not see the red dot that indicates where the bullet with land. Single shot mode is useful if you want to conserve ammo by going for head shots. Burst fire is largely useless because 5 rounds is not enough to kill anything in the VCI levels, but 10 rounds is overkill. As with most weapons in Tomb Raider 1-5, reloading is not done in real time.

The weapon needs no time for reloading and is very effective at long range.
Moving or stopping, however, causes a brief delay in fire while Lara re-positions the weapon. The models features in Tomb Raider 3 and Chronicles have an integral sound suppressor so that nearby enemies will not hear the report.
The Automatic Pistols have the same accuracy, rate of fire, and do twice as much damage as Lara's own pistols, and closely resemble the Intratec Tec-22, chambered in .22LR (notice that the magazines go in front of the grips). They are more effective than the pistols, but it still requires many rounds to dispatch average-sized enemies. They are akin to the Magnums from TR1, though not as effective as the Uzis.
